Privacy Policy

Cosmeview is an independent editorial site for cosmetics reviews and ingredient analysis. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how you can control it. We try to be as plainspoken as possible.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site. Specifically:
- Account info— when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture from Google. That’s it. We do not access your contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.
- Comments you post— the text of your comment, the article it’s attached to, and when you posted it.
- Standard server logs — IP address, browser user-agent, and pages visited, retained for up to 30 days to diagnose problems and detect abuse.
We do not use analytics that profile you across the web. We do not sell your data. We do not run ad-network trackers.
How we use it
- To let you sign in and post comments under your name.
- To remove spam or abusive content when reported.
- To keep the site running and respond to support requests.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of vendors to operate the site:
- Google — handles the sign-in flow. They see only that you used your Google account to sign into Cosmeview.
- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication session storage.
- Amazon Web Services — hosts the application servers and delivers images via CloudFront.
We do not share your information with anyone else. If we are ever required to disclose information by lawful court order, we will notify you unless legally prohibited.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us (see Contact). You can delete your own comments from the article page when signed in. If you’d like a copy of the data we have about you, ask.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not use analytics cookies that identify you individually.
Children
Cosmeview is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, let us know and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the homepage.
